IBAM welcomes you! Whether you are a researcher, teacher, practitioner, student, or have a general interest in the applied management of behavior, there is a place for you in the Institute of Behavioral and Applied Management. We encourage newcomers and those with experience alike to participate in informative, lively and engaging sessions. IBAM offers a friendly, collegial atmosphere to present your research and ideas, have panel discussions, conduct professional development activities, provide/receive helpful feedback, all in the service of advancing your research, teaching, practice and network of colleagues.

Participate as a presenter, reviewer, session chair, discussant, volunteer, or general participant. IBAM welcomes management educators, business practitioners, students and those with a general interest in the applied management of behavior, to share their ideas, research, and experiences in a friendly and supportive environment. Session discussions are stimulating, informative, and broad-based.
Reviewer IBAM needs reviewers to review research papers (full and partially complete) and research proposals. IBAM provides a structured and efficient review process with a response of approximately 5 days after formal submission. To become an IBAM reviewer, contact the program chair, Dr Graeme Coetzer (graeme.coetzer@sus.edu).
Submit your research paper (full or partially complete) or research incubator (idea) description for anonymous peer review and/or your symposium (panel discussion, presentation etc.) and professional development workshop proposals for review by the conference management team. All submissions must be emailed to the conference chair (Dr Graeme Coetzer) (graeme.coetzer@sus.edu) and a response will be provided in approximately 5 days. Research paper submissions (full or work-in-progress) must exclude author information from the paper and instead include information about all the authors in the body of the submission email (first/last name, professional title/position, affiliation/institution, email). The IBAM conference is an excellent outlet for completed or work-in-progress research, research ideas, and a variety of presentations/discussions and professional development activities that cover the various sub-fields of management.
Publication in Proceedings. The research paper and research idea (incubator) abstracts and the descriptions of the symposia and workshops will be published in the conference proceedings and can be referenced within faculty and student academic performance records, and professional resumes.

Research Paper
A fully or partially completed research paper that you would like to present and publish. It might be mostly complete or a work in progress for which you are still collecting developmental feedback. It might also be a “bottom drawer” paper you are trying to revive. All full papers will be automatically considered for best paper awards. The abstracts of submitted papers will be published in the conference proceedings.
Student Research Paper
A subcategory of “Research Papers” is a student paper. One author (ideally the first author) must be a student and must attend (in-person or online). Undergraduate, Masters, and Doctoral learners are welcome. “Best Student Paper” award(s) will be selected from this category. Sponsoring faculty members should encourage institutional or private support of students whose papers are accepted. The abstracts of full papers will be published in the conference proceedings.
Symposia
Symposia proposals typically involve the exploration of a topic in either a panel or presenter format that also includes some level of audience participation.
Professional Development Workshop
Workshops typically involve presented content followed by activities that enhance the topic-related competencies of workshop participants. Symposia and workshops are typically allotted more time within the program. A description of the symposia or workshop will be included in the conference proceedings.
Symposia and workshops are not double-blind reviewed, but are selected by the Conference Management Team for inclusion in the program. All those involved in delivering accepted symposia and workshops must register for and attend the conference (either online or in-person)
Best Papers are Eligible for JBAM Consideration and Journal Publication
The Best Papers in each Division are eligible for publication consideration in the Journal of Behavioral and Applied Management (JBAM). The journal provides an international outlet for its contributors and is published three times per year. To learn more about our journal, click here.
Student Scholarships Awarded
In support of student scholars, IBAM may award a $250 best paper scholarship in its student classifications. In addition, a special student rate applies for conference registration. A student must declare (check box) student status at time of submission. Eligible papers may be co-authored with a faculty member, but the student must be first author, attend the conference and must present the paper. Faculty sponsors should inform students of conference costs and encourage institutional or personal support of attendance.
